BOND BEEBE PRINCIPALS PRESENT AT IFEBP’S 59TH ANNUAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS CONFERENCE
Bond Beebe, a certified public accounting and advisory firm with offices in Bethesda, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia, announced that three of their Principals participated in the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans’ (“IFEBP”) 59th Annual Employee Benefits Conference, which took place October 20 – 23, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. David P. Dorsey, Scott M. Price and Lawrence R. Beebe each participated in separate speaking engagements during the program. The IFEBP is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to being a leading objective and independent global source of employee benefits, compensation and financial literacy education and information; the Annual Employee Benefits Conference offers almost 200 sessions and workshops that address topics concerning those who serve multiemployer and public employee benefit plans and provides opportunities for networking and collaboration.
Dorsey co-presented several sessions, including “Trustee & Fund Expenses – An Update,” with Simone L. Rockstroh of Carday Associates and Robert M. Projansky of Proskauer Rose LLP, and also participated in an “Accountants Open Forum” Session.
Price moderated a session entitled “Investment Primer – Risk Parity and Liquid Alternatives” with John M. Elliot of NEPC, LLC. Price was also a panelist for “Auditing and Accounting Hot Topics” with moderator Kathleen M. Jackson, CPA of Novak Francella LLC.
Beebe presented the seminar “Dealing with Conflicting Loyalties – Which Hat are You Wearing?,” dedicated to understanding proper trustee roles and co-presented “How to Effectively Use Internal Audit Committees,” with Melissa Riner, International Brotherhood of Teamsters. He also participated as a panelist for two sessions: “Case Study Breakout – Pension and Health & Welfare Groups” and “Open Issues/Future Challenges.” Additionally, Beebe presented the “Understanding the Fund’s Financial Statements” and “Using Fund Professionals Wisely” classes as a part of the pre-conference New Trustees Institute.
